Online Consulting

Welcome to our new online consulting tool. You can contact us about a medical, administrative or prescription issues by clicking on the image above. Answer a few short questions and we will get back to you within 2 working days.

Please do not use this online form for urgent or emergency requests. The submitted forms will only be read during office hours. The forms will not be read on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) or on bank holidays.  They will not be read Monday-Friday between the hours of 18:00 - 08:00. Please contact 111 during out of hours or 999 if this is an emergency.

Appointment System

The Practice operates an online triage system. Please note this service cannot always allow patients a choice of GP but we will try to accommodate where possible. These completed forms go to the on call GP who will then allocate you an appropriate appointment.

If you are unable to complete this form please ring reception 0161 490 2293 and one of our Care Coordinators will complete this for you. They will require appropriate information for the doctor so please be understanding of the need for questions. Please also be aware call waiting times between these hours maybe longer than anticipated due to the high volume of calls.

If your doctor of choice has no free appointments within 48 hours, you will be offered an appointment with another doctor in the practice.

Urgent Appointments

The online booking system is for routine appointments only.  Please do not use it to book urgent appointments, (e.g. chest pain, shortness of breath) instead please call 999 or seek urgent medical advice via 111.

Running Late

Although we book 10 minute appointment slots, not every problem can be dealt with in this period so there may be times when the GP and nurses surgeries run late. Please be patient - there may be a time when your appointment takes longer than 10 minutes.  If you have been waiting a long time and think you may have been forgotten, please go back to the front desk. The receptionist will let you know why the delay has occurred.

Extended Access Hubs

Manchester GP surgeries are there for you at evenings and weekends

The practice, working in collaboration with Manchester Extended Access, is pleased to offer access to GP, nurse and HCA appointments during the evenings and at the weekends.

  • Wednesday & Thursday 4:30pm to 8:00pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 10am to 2pm (an appointment will be made by your own practice and then you will be seen by a Doctor at either Cornishway Group Practice or a Practice in the local area).

To book appointments simply ask the receptionist who will arrange an appointment at a time and location that suits you best. This may not be at your usual practice, but the GP or Health Care Professional who sees you will have access to your medical record and can issue prescriptions if required and deal with other matters appropriately should the need arise.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Unfortunately we continue to have a high non-attendance rate which seriously limits our ability to offer appropriate slots. Please notify the practice as soon as you are aware that your appointment is no longer convenient. Last minute cancellations will be marked as non-attendance.

All non-attendance is recorded and repeated episodes will trigger correspondence from the Practice. As a last resort, if these are ignored, a patient may be asked to leave the Practice list in fairness to our other patients.

You can also text to cancel your appointment. Text back CANCEL

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by a telephone consultation. Alternatively a nurse visit or indeed a hospital attendance may be more appropriate.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
